Special focus: the creation of SPACE

'We bet we can success!' That was the belief settled by the organizers of SPACE in 1987. SPACE (Animal Productions Show European Crossroads) was born out with the conviction to create 'an european showcase of animal and crop productions'. To achieve this goal, SPACE formed a GIE (Economic Interest Grouping), gathering together the Agriculture Chamber of Brittany, the Agriculture Chamber of Ille et Vilaine and the international fair trade of Rennes.

According to the President of SPACE at that time, Marcel DAUNAY, 'the decicion to create this exhibition, in the heart of one of of the agricultural regions at the foremost rank in Europe and at a point where agriculture is subject to important changes, is a proof of dynamism of Brittany'.
