Visite de Jacques CHIRAC au SPACE 2001

Special focus: the first visit of a President of Republic at SPACE

In 15 years of existence, it's the first time that a President of Republic comes at SPACE ! Jacques CHIRAC inaugurated SPACE on tuesday 11th September. His coming to the agricultural show clearly implies that SPACE is now an unmissable event and that agriculture is a major preoccupation at the top of the political insitutions.

'As usual, he had unplanned talks and shook hands with the crowd. This visit was also the opportunity for Jean-Michel LEMETAYER, President of SPACE, to show Mr Chirac how all these professionals are passionated by their work, how well they want to defend and promote livestock breeding and how they manage to constantly evolve, adapt themselves to meet the needs of the society. SPACE is for them a place to exchange and create contact, in a singular and appreciated environment, between professionalism and friendliness' extract from 2001 SPACE Infos.

Jacques CHIRAC's visit was abruptly interrupted after New York World Trade Center attack, on the same day...
