Special focus: end of 'Milk cycling world tour'

One year and 18,000 kilometers later, Martine BROUWER and Arnaud BARANGER are travelling back from theirmilk cycling world tour! Spain, Morocco, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, India, Romania... they are back with happy memories of numerous enriching encounters and a global vision of milk production.

But for this specialist duo in milk production and agricultural buildings, the aim was to bring back information about the global situation of milk production. "We studied five countries in particular, New Zealand, Chile, Australia, India and Ukraine". But if milk is an universal product, the situation and the stakes in each country are very different. "India is the biggest milk producer in the world thanks to a multitude of small producers. Dairy farming pump-primes rural development is a major factor in the fight against poverty. Milk is blessed with an excellent reputation for its nutritional and spiritual value".
